The Paddington has the same steam-bent heritage as our Fitzroy, with a solid timber seat in place of padding. That makes it the more durable choice for busy venues where seats get wiped down constantly or where padded seats would be scuffed by bags and belts. The hoop back is filled with woven cane and framed in a darker walnut stain.
Solid timber seats are also the easiest to maintain over the life of the chair: scratches can be sanded and refinished. A separate seat pad can be added for winter or longer dining. The leg ring under the seat keeps the frame rigid, and floor glides protect polished concrete and timber floors.
Pairing and layout. The Paddington works well with marble-look or timber bistro tables at 730-750 mm and suits tight wine-bar layouts, because its footprint is compact and it has no arms. Mix it with our padded Fitzroy in the same stain to give regulars a choice of seat while keeping the room consistent. Cane panels can be replaced individually if one is damaged, so a single knock does not mean a new chair.
