The Manly is the chair that gets photographed. Its moulded plywood back is cut with radiating slots so it opens like a fan, and the round seat repeats the pattern in a half-sun of slots. On a sunny morning the shadow it throws on the floor is half the appeal.
Under the shells, thin chrome-plated steel rods form the legs and carry the back. The result is a chair that weighs little, takes up little visual space and suits tight cafe floors where a heavier timber chair would make the room feel crowded.
Construction: moulded multi-ply veneer seat and back, slots CNC-cut and sanded smooth; steel rod frame, chrome plated or powder coated; glides matched to tile, concrete or timber floors.
Indoor or covered use: the plywood shells are sealed with commercial lacquer and suit indoor rooms and fully covered verandahs. For open footpath seating, choose one of our outdoor-rated chairs.
Where it works: brunch cafes, window rows, bakery dining rooms, coastal cafes with a light colour scheme.
Options: oak, walnut or black stain; chrome, brass-tone or black frame; seat pad. Sizes confirmed on the shop drawing.
