The Northcote is a Scandinavian-leaning side chair built for busy dining rooms. Four square-section oak legs carry a seat woven from flat brown straps in a basket pattern, and a single curved solid timber back rail sits at exactly the height where your back wants it. There is nothing to trap crumbs and nothing to tear.
The woven strap seat flexes slightly under load, which makes the chair more comfortable than a solid timber seat over a long lunch. The straps are wrapped around the seat rails and fixed underneath, so worn straps can be replaced without rebuilding the chair.
Construction: solid oak frame with mortise-and-tenon joints; straps in faux leather or leather, woven over the seat rails; back rail shaped from solid timber; clear commercial lacquer.
Where it works: cafes, bistros, wine bars and casual restaurants with light timber and white interiors.
Options: oak natural, light or dark stain; strap colours from tan to black; leather or faux leather straps. Final sizes confirmed on the shop drawing.
