If guests stay for two courses and a bottle of wine, a padded seat earns its keep. Our upholstered dining chairs pair solid timber or timber-and-steel frames with seats in commercial-grade vinyl or contract fabric over high-resilience foam.
Choosing the right cover
| Cover | Cleaning | Durability | Look | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Commercial vinyl / PU | Wipe with mild detergent | High | Smooth, leather-like | Cafes, family dining, pubs |
| Contract woven fabric | Spot clean; stain finish recommended | High when rated for contract | Warm, textured | Restaurants, wine bars |
| Velvet / performance velvet | Vacuum, spot clean | Medium to high | Rich | Evening venues |
| Genuine leather | Wipe, condition | High, ages well | Premium | Steakhouses, hotels |
For contract fabric, ask for abrasion data. A common benchmark is the Martindale test, with figures of 40,000 cycles or more often requested for heavy-use hospitality seating. For fire performance, many fitout specifiers request testing to recognised ignitability standards such as AS/NZS 3744.1 or BS 5852 / EN 1021; we specify foam and covers to the standard your certifier or insurer nominates and supply test reports for specific items where available.
