The Grey Lynn wraps diners in timber. A curved band of bent plywood forms the back and sweeps forward into wide, flat solid timber arms; the seat is a deep padded cushion in a dark green leather-look upholstery set inside the frame. The overall shape is a low barrel that feels secure to sit in without being bulky.
The arms sit at table height, so the chair slides partly under a standard 750 mm table, and they double as handles when guests pull up their seat. The timber back takes the bumps from passing trays, so the upholstery stays protected.
Construction: solid hardwood legs and arms, bent multi-ply back band, plywood seat with high-resilience foam; walnut-tone commercial lacquer; floor glides.
Where it works: bistros, wine bars, restaurant dining rooms and hotel lounges serving food.
Options: walnut, oak or black stain; seat in vinyl, leather or fabric (COM accepted). Foam and fabric specified to meet AS/NZS fire requirements on request; check with your building certifier. Sizes confirmed on the shop drawing.
