The Hawthorn takes a familiar mid-century dining chair frame and dresses it up. The frame is solid timber painted a soft grey, with front and back legs that splay outward like an A. The seat and back are padded panels in a cream leather-look upholstery, finished with a grid of buttons for a tailored look. Turn the chair around and the back is an open frame crossed by timber slats and two vertical straps, so the chair looks finished from the aisle as well as the table.
Painted timber and a wipeable upholstery make it easy to keep presentable, and the button tufting hides small creases as the foam settles in.
Construction: solid hardwood frame with mortise-and-tenon joints, painted in a commercial two-pack coating; seat and back on plywood with high-resilience foam; floor glides.
Where it works: restaurant dining rooms, hotel restaurants, wine bars and function rooms with a calm, neutral palette.
Options: any paint colour or timber stain; vinyl, leather or fabric (COM accepted); plain or tufted pads. Sizes confirmed on the shop drawing.
