The Canberra is a straightforward mid-century lounge chair that can be dressed up or down by the upholstery you choose. The frame is solid timber with angled compass legs and flat timber arms, and the seat and back are thick, square-edged cushions. The photos show four coverings: a cream linen-look weave, a smooth cream leather, an oxblood aged leather and an olive-green aged leather.
Versions shown:
- armchair with flat paddle arms
- armchair with a V-shaped side frame rising to the arm
- armless slipper version on a compass-leg base with stretcher
- two-seat loveseat with padded arm caps
Leather versions develop a patina in busy lounges, which suits bars and hotels; the linen version is lighter and softer for cafes and salons.
Construction: solid timber frames, commercial lacquer; plywood decks with high-resilience foam; genuine or faux leather or contract fabric.
Where it works: hotel lounges, whisky and wine bars, pub lounges and reception areas.
Options: single or two-seat, arm style, stain, covering (COM/COL accepted).
