Seen from behind, the Swan Valley shows off its craft: a solid walnut-tone frame with a shaped top rail, a back of natural woven cane in two panels, and a cognac leather lumbar pillow hung over the top rail on a leather strap. The seat is a cognac leather cushion on a timber deck, and slender sculpted timber arms curve down to straight, slightly tapered legs.
It is a low, relaxed armchair rather than a dining chair, and the open cane back keeps it light enough to use in pairs in a small lounge or reading corner.
Construction: solid hardwood frame, glued and screwed, commercial lacquer; cane panels in routed frames; seat cushion and lumbar pillow in faux or genuine leather with removable covers.
Where it works: hotel lounges and rooms, cellar doors, cafe lounges and private dining rooms.
Care: cane suits indoor and fully covered areas.
Options: stain, leather colour, fabric cushions; COL accepted.
